Soberania Park - North Summit

On Saturday, Nicholas picked us up at 10:30 am. We wanted to go hiking so we asked him to bring us to the Soberania National Park. This park is just about 30 minutes outside of Panama City. When we got there,  we learned that Nicholas had brought us to the North Summit area of the National Park. At the North Summit, there was a zoo! The other three were kind of disappointed for no hiking, but i was SUPER EXCITED cause I LOVE aminalsssssssssssssssssssssssssssss :D

Another jaguar. You can't tell in this pic, but he was panting really hard. Its veryyyyyy hot in Panama.

This is a Harpy Eagle. It is the National bird of Panama

On our "hike"

We found the monkeysssssssssssssssss. This is a spider monkey. He was separated from the other monkeys and was in a really small enclosure by himself. There were no signs explaining why and I felt really bad for him :(

I'm not sure what this kitty is, but he is beautiful!

Little alligator!

OMG A TOUCAN FINALLYYYYYYYYYYY. People told us that we would see them everywhere, and we haven't seen a single one yet. Only this one in captivity.

 

This is a cute squirrel monkey :)

This is a tamarin!

When we were looking at the Tamarin, the squirrel monkey decided he wasn't done hogging our attention so he hopped onto the fence that separates him from us. This is him, without any zoom. He was eating a piece of chicken :)

Crossing the scariest bridge on the planet... The bridge doesn't cross the canal. The canal is the the left and a little lagoon is to the right.

Then we went home and chillaxed at our apartment. I made homemade pasta sauce for dinner with chicken and mushrooms over pasta. We watched some movies and played black jack :)
