Travel to Panama
Mom and Dad brought me Logan around 11 am. My flight was scheduled for 1 pm. Upon arrival we discovered that one of my bags was slightly over 50 lbs. Luckily, the lady was nice and said that it was fine. We chatted in the lobby for awhile before I headed through security. Once going through security, I made my way to my gate and settled down to check my Facebook.
I was supposed to be meeting a group member at the airport and we were going to be flying together. It was getting closer and closer to boarding time and she had not arrived. She is not one to be late. As I was getting in line to board the plane, I got a text message from her asking when I was getting to the airport. I told her I was there and getting ready to board. Then we realized that we were on different flights from Boston to Newark. Then, I got another text from her saying that her flight arrangements were all messed up and she would keep me updated. My flight to Newark was on the world's smallest plane... They "checked" everyone's bags, except for small purses and little bags. The flight was quick and went well.
When I landed in Newark, I had to go down several flights of stairs to a transfer bus. Then I took the transfer bus to a different terminal. Once in the new terminal, I had to climb u several flights of stairs. Then I wondered around and found the food court. THANKFULLY, there was a Dunkin Donuts so I had my last coffee and a bagel with pumpkin cream cheese. Then I just relaxed and chatted with a friend and my brother online. Then, a few minutes before boarding I ordered a pizza roll to go and packed that away to have on the plane. I checked my phone when I landed and learned that that my group member had been re-routed to Atlanta and would meet me in Panama. The gate for my flight was really awkward and small. I was not a fan I had a middle seat on the flight which was not great. United also has TVs for all the seats but you have to pay to use them. They did end up serving dinner, but it was REALLY BAD so I was glad that I had ordered the pizza roll for my food. I played a lot of Angry Birds on the flight. When I landed in Panama, I went through immigrations and customs with only slight challenges. Then I met up with my group member and another person who had flown from Atlanta. To our surprise, our graduate adviser met us there as well because he had missed his earlier flight.
Our driver, Nickolas picked us up and brought us to our apartment. Our apartment is really nice Unfortunetly, we DID find a cockroach in our sink. Cindy promptly killed it but we are now on the look out for any unwanted guests.
